THE NO GANG

A progressive musical group with its roots held firmly in rock, playing anything from lounge to grunge. The No Gang keeps no strict musical personality, opting instead to craft music for the occasion. Members Jimmy, Gary and Davy hail from across the United States operating in round table forum, each bringing forth a diverse taste and knowledge of music.
Meeting in high school Gary and Jimmy hit it off while working together on a class project. Two goofy longhairs dressed in Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd tee shirts, unaware of what might come their way. Not long after, the two started playing at the local youth center; it was here that Gary introduced Jimmy to his brother Davy. After graduating Jimmy felt the need to bring together a formal band and Gary agreed. Together they recorded a jam session and started searching for the rest of the band. Deciding help would be needed the boys approached a local rehearsal studio, in hopes to book time and audition some new people. Davy agreed to sit in on the drums during one of these sessions but would not fully commit, as he was busy, involved with various other projects. After the unsuccessful attempt of auditioning new members it was decided to refocus funds and energy into additional equipment and time needed to create higher quality recordings.
As new gear was acquired the frequency of meetings stagnated, however Davy proposed another jam before he and Gary would be heading back to school; it was this session that at last brought the group together. Making the decision to record, the group worked out their first song “Late Shift”. In the next few days Davy joined full time and a name was decided, “The No Gang”. Jimmy explained this, “Some bands have deep meaning to their names. We just named ourselves after an old Nintendo game I discovered. It can mean anything, and I think that suits us.”
